Launched in 2017, Grant Crawford & Watson LLP is a boutique law firm practising exclusively in family law. The partners – Stephen Grant, Erin Crawford and Jennifer Watson – lead a team of legal professionals experienced in dealing with complex and challenging family law matters, particularly those involving more complex financial issues. Mindful of the uniqueness of each client’s situation and conscious of cost, lawyers and staff at Grant Crawford & Watson LLP adopt a team approach to achieving a fair, imaginative and expeditious resolution of their clients’ family law issues.

Executive Legal Assistant
Stephen Grant is an experienced family lawyer, specializing in complex financial cases. He has appeared in courts across the country as well as the Supreme Court of Canada. Along with his counsel practice, he acts as a mediator/arbitrator in family and estates matters.
Stephen is a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers and Editor of the ACTL Journal. He is also a Fellow of the International Academy of Trial Lawyers and the International Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers (of which he was the first Canadian Chapter President).Stephen is the Editor of the Advocates’ Journal, the main publication of the Advocates’ Society, the Editor-in-Chief of the Ontario Reports and co-author of Lawyers’ Professional Liability, now in its 3rd edition. Stephen also contributes the occasional travel article to the Globe and Mail.
Stephen was awarded the Law Society Medal in 2006, The Advocates’ Society Medal in 2017, and most recently, the 2017 OBA Award for Excellence in Family Law.
Erin Crawford has practiced exclusively in the area of family law since her call to the Ontario bar in 2003.
Erin represents clients at various levels of court and in mediation and arbitration. Erin formerly represented children in custody and access matters, as a member of the Office of the Children’s Lawyer panel in Ontario.
Erin is a member of the The Advocates’ Society; and is on the Executive of the Family Law section of the Ontario Bar Association, also holding the position of Editor of the OBA publication “Matrimonial Affairs”. She is a presenter at the Mandatory Information Program, and acts as a mentor to young lawyers and law students at the OBA and through the University of Windsor and other Ontario law schools. Erin presents at family law conferences and has appeared on Family Matters with Justice Harvey Brownstone, as a guest discussing financial issues in family law.
Jennifer practices in all areas of family law including complex divisions of property, income disputes, child and spousal support, and high conflict custody and access matters, through both the litigation and alternative dispute resolution processes. Prior to focusing exclusively on family law, Jennifer practiced commercial litigation at a prominent full-service law firm.
A trusted advisor, Jennifer’s integrity and solution-oriented approach allows her to effectively negotiate and advocate on behalf of her clients.
Jennifer holds a B.A. (Hons.) in Philosophy from Queen’s University, and an LL.B. from Osgoode Hall. She was called to the Bar of Ontario 2002, and is a member of The Advocates’ Society, the Canadian Bar Association, the Ontario Bar Association, and the Toronto Lawyers’ Association. Jennifer also volunteers her time to various projects within Pro Bono Law Ontario.
Megan Edmiston practises all areas of family law. Megan practised civil litigation at a Bay Street boutique and summered and articled with a national full-service firm.
Megan received her J.D. from Queen’s University in 2010 and obtained her Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in History and International Development from McGill University in 2006. While studying law, Megan completed a term at the University of Cape Town and received a Certificate in Public International Law from the Bader International Study Center in England. While at Queen’s Megan completed a clinical placement with the Frontenac Children’s Aid Society and volunteered with Pro Bono Students Canada’s Family Law Project.
Megan was called to the Ontario Bar in 2011. She is a member of The Advocates’ Society, the Canadian Bar Association, and the Ontario Bar Association’s Family Law section.
Since being called to the bar in 2012, Meghan has practiced exclusively in the area of family law. Prior to joining Grant Crawford & Watson LLP, Meghan practiced at a well-known Toronto family law boutique.
Meghan received her J.D. from the University of Windsor in 2011 and earned her B.A. in Criminology and History from Saint Mary’s University in Halifax, Nova Scotia in 2007. While at the University of Windsor, Meghan gained invaluable insight into the judicial prospective while clerking at the Ontario Court of Justice, Family Court.
Meghan is a member of the Law Society of Upper Canada, The Advocates Society and the Family Law Section of the Ontario Bar Association.
Stephanie Garbe is an associate at Grant Crawford & Watson LLP. Prior to joining the firm, Stephanie clerked at the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, where she worked with the judges of the Unified Family Court on challenging domestic contracts, support claims and custody cases.
Stephanie earned her J.D. from Queen’s University and a Bachelor of Science from McGill University. In law school, she represented Queen’s at the Harold G. Fox Intellectual Property Law Moot. She also volunteered with the Queen’s Business Law Clinic and Pro Bono Students Canada. Prior to law school, Stephanie was employed at the Ontario Ministry of the Environment where she drafted legislation.
Stephanie was called to the Ontario Bar in 2016. She is a member of The Osgoode Society, The Advocates' Society, the Canadian Bar Association and the Ontario Bar Association
Gerald Sadvari has over 35 years of experience as family law counsel in all courts in Ontario, and has provided expert testimony in numerous cases in the Superior Court of Ontario.
Gerry is a Certified Family Law Arbitrator and has conducted an alternative dispute resolution practise since 1990. Gerry appears in all editions in the Canadian Legal Expert Directory as one of the most recommended family law lawyers in Ontario. Gerry is also recognized in Best Lawyers in Canada as a leading lawyer in family law and family law mediation.
Gerry has published over 150 articles in the area of Family Law in various publications, including articles for The Law Society of Upper Canada and the Canadian Bar Association’s Family Law Program on topics of support, advocacy, marriage contracts, valuation of property and trusts. He is the co-author of “The Separation Agreement, Annotated” which is the standard form of the separation agreement in the Province.
Gerry received his BA from the University of Toronto and his LLB from Queen’s University. Gerry was called to the Ontario bar in 1978.
Since June 2013 Gerry has restricted his practice to ADR.
Stephanie K. Sroka is a Law Clerk with Grant Crawford & Watson LLP. Prior to joining the firm, Stephanie worked at a Bay Street firm as well as a boutique law firm specializing in Family Law.
Stephanie is a former Assistant Trial Coordinator with the Superior Court of Justice where she worked closely with the Judiciary. She played a key role in assisting the bench and bar transition to the Family Law Rules in 2004. Stephanie was also a regular presenter at the Ontario Bar Association and the Law Society of Upper Canada with respect to Court process and procedures.
Stephanie works closely with clients in preparing financial statements, disclosure briefs, net family property statements and uncontested divorces. She assists the lawyers with motion material, mediation material and preparation for arbitration and trials.
After completing a Bachelor of Arts in criminology and sociology at the University of Toronto, Jenny began working as a legal assistant in the areas of family law, estates and wills, and real estate. She pursued her interest in law and continued her education at Centennial College where she obtained her Law Clerk certificate and later completed the Family Law Fellowship Course offered by the Institute of Law Clerks in Ontario. Prior to joining Grant Crawford & Watson LLP, Jenny worked at two other prominent family law firms in Toronto.
